Volunteering
Wagtail Farm has hosted volunteers from all over the world working with the Wwoof and Workaway models. Typically volunteers stay for 1 month, but some have completed an entire growing season (April to October).
Volunteers live in a caravan and have access to an outdoor shower and toilet, as well as shared kitchen facilities in a static caravan. Typically volunteers help for 20 hours a week. We provide all basic food and often enjoy shared lunches together. We like to treat our volunteers and often would enjoy evenings out for pizza or to a local pub.
Volunteers have been involved in all the projects at wagtail farm including:
All aspects of vegetable growing, Orcharding, Coppicing, building a Strawbale house, helping with animals, dog walking and child care. Due to new regulations, volunteers now only help with domestic small-holding activities, not commercial.
We presently only have one caravan available, and are having a break this year to focus on development at the farm. Please get in touch for availability in 2024.
